I realize that probably sounds weird if you're not a therapist, but it's true. There are some weird unicorns out there in the world (like me) who actually don't feel like you're a burden when you talk about your problems. I want to help you comb through all the confusion, chaos, mess, and noise in your life to help you find the strength, resilience, peacefulness, confidence, and balance you knew you needed but didn't know how to navigate to. I believe more growth and more freedom is possible! I've experienced so in my own life and I hope you will too!
As a Learner
I completed my undergraduate education at Cabrillo College, Bethany University, and CSU Monterey Bay, graduating from CSUMB in December of 2007 with a BA in Psychology. After a number of years working in the field of outpatient mental health for those dealing with the effects of severe mental illness as well as volunteer work with adolescents through youth ministry and mentoring, I returned to attend Fresno State University. I graduated from Fresno State with a MS in Counseling Psychology - Marriage, Family, & Child Counseling track in December of 2018. I was trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy and Flash Technique in 2020 through an EMDRIA certified trainer. I worked as an associate marriage and family therapist in school settings and private practice settings from 2018 until becoming fully licensed as a marriage and family therapist in May of 2024.
As a Person
Personally I've been happily (with a bit of commitment and intentionality) married for 19 years! We live with our permanent kiddos and dog and we have additional kids we consider part of our family who continue to come and go as a result of involvement in youth ministry, foster care, and international student hosting. I enjoy a deep conversation (weird right?!), time in nature, being active with my family, and when I have time to indulge in being creative through painting or drawing. My relationship with God and commitment to Him are central to my life. While this is who I am, I welcome and respect people from all walks of life, with differing interests, experiences, & beliefs.
